Saskatchewan’s Sherry Anderson topped a powerhouse afternoon in Calgary, beating Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones 5-4 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
The victory ran Anderson’s record to 2-1, while dropping Jones to 2-2.
Anderson, holding hammer, scored two in the 10th end of a tightly-played match. She didn’t have to throw her last shot after Jones failed to convert a raise.
Anderson’s Saskatoon Nutana foursome — which includes third Nancy Martin, second Chaelynn Kitz and lead Breanne Knapp — returns to action on Tuesday with draws against New Brunswick’s Melissa Adams at 9:30 a.m., and Quebec’s Laurie St-Georges at 7:30 p.m.
