KOTA KINABALU: A total of 30, 000 doses of vaccine are expected to arrive in Labuan this week.
Labuan MP Datuk Rozman Isli said the consignment was part of the 100, 000 doses set to be sent to the Federal Territory.
“Covid-19 cases in Labuan are still at a worrying rate although there was a slight decline over the past few days.
“The vaccination process, however, must be expedited, ” he said on Monday (June 14).
Rozman added that the Federal Government had also agreed to send a task force to help the team in Labuan conducting vaccinations.
He also told the people of Labuan to do their part in breaking the chain of infection by observing strict physical distancing, putting on face masks while in public places and keeping themselves clean at all times.
“We should avoid any panic buying because it poses a risk of cases spiking again.
“The panic buying that caused the unnecessary shortage in essential goods at several supermarkets before the lockdown should not have happened as it brought more harm than good, ” he said.
Rozman urged the authorities to monitor the situation and check on prices.
